DELHI LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
LIBRARY : A BRIEF SYNOPSIS
Delhi Legislative Assembly Library was set up in 1952 on the constitution of First Legislative Assembly. The library was a part of Vidhan Sabha till it was abolished in 1956. The library was thereafter transferred to the control of the Delhi Admin. Sectt. In 1989 the control of Library was transferred from Delhi Admn. Sectt to Mertropolitan Council Department.
With the Constitution of Delhi Assembly in 1993, it came to be know as Delhi Legislative Assembly Library. The aim of the Library is to disseminate knowledge on matter of topical and parliamentary aspects to the members of the library. It also provides press-clipping & photocopy service to the Hon’ble Members of Assembly as well as other user.
The Library has a collection of over 40,000 books and reports and subscribes 38 magazines, 8 journals and 24 newspapers. Over 50 magazines are received as gratis in the library.
